Well I am excited to announce that I took a little leap forward and just become one of the newest team leaders for the Etsy Sellers of Manitoba. I have been a member since it’s inception as well as an active shop owner in the Etsy community both locally and online and I am thrilled that I get to step that up a bit and play a more integral role. Take on some mentoring and more in the future, hopefully! I thought I would give you an outline of what Etsy Sellers of Manitoba is, who is all involved, how it can help you and more.
What is Etsy Sellers of Manitoba? It is a team that’s here to help you succeed as a seller on Etsy and in the local community. They are a “Rural Friendly” Etsy Team for any shop based out of Manitoba, Canada with a focus on growing and helping each other by offering workshops, pop up markets, team events, mentorship program, and More! This team is working to create a group that encourages growth and community mindedness between makers, vintage and craft supply curators with Etsy shops new and old.
How did Etsy Sellers of Manitoba come to be? Well this new team was the brain child of Amanda of Silver Moose Arts. She created this group to be an ally to other Manitoba groups and teams. This group stems from the Manitoba Etsy Seller Support Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/etsymanitoba.
Who is Amanda? Well let me tell you, she is a force to be reckoned with. I don’t know the exact day I met her but when I did she certainly made an impact. She is the owner of Silver Moose Arts a beautifully modern and vintage sterling silver jewelry shop. Wanting her business to be successful it only made sense that she would become more active in the Etsy community. With that passion in mind she started taking on leadership roles with W.E.S.T our sister Etsy chapter. From there she attended Etsy Summits in Toronto where she learned to mentor, teach workshops and in general how to be a good leader. She created the Etsy Sellers of Manitoba in 2014 and it became an official team late last fall. With the support of W.E.S.T and Etsy she has now started hosting pop ups at other successful markets which has exceeded everyone’s expectations. Amanda is very energetic and full of life which makes her a serious go getter. She is also very knowledgeable when it comes to all things Etsy, which was proven in 2015 when she was able to quit her day job to commit to her Etsy shop full time.
Who else is involved? Well besides the many shops that are a part of this group I will introduce you to the rest of the leadership. Besides Amanda, they’re are four others that are here to support you and help you and your shop succeed. From left to right to right you have Rebecca Wright-Waczko of BixiPix, Sarah Neville of Sarah Neville Studios, Leanne Thiessen of Paper Canoe Designs, Deanne Chambers of Wild Forest Handmade and Boreal Fabrics.
